Kathryn Childers Do it Scared! A trailblazer, storyteller, and former United States Secret Service agent—one of the first five women ever hired—Kathryn Childers has lived an extraordinary life. Raised in Colorado and a University of Colorado grad, she guarded world leaders, including the Kennedy children, chased counterfeiters, and worked undercover in NYC, Washington, and Miami. She later moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, where she began her career in broadcasting, logging 18 years as a producer & talk show host, and hosting ABC’s Take Two and more than 18,000 interviews with icons from Lucille Ball to Dolly Parton. A community spark, she co-founded Clowns Who Care and created her alter-ego, “Sassy the Sheriff”. Through her inspiring “Do It Scared!” message, Kathryn will challenge attendees to embrace fear, seize opportunity, and step boldly into what’s next. |

Martin O’Malley The Future of Social Security: Operational Updates and Policy Perspectives Former Maryland Governor, Martin O'Malley, will lead a forward-looking discussion on key operational, policy, and solvency issues shaping the future of Social Security. Drawing on his recent leadership at the Social Security Administration, Governor O’Malley will discuss the “We Can’t Wait Act”, a bipartisan effort to provide timely financial support for newly awarded disability claimants through legislation allowing eligible individuals to elect earlier benefits, easing financial strain while maintaining trust fund sustainability. He will address the goal of restoring customer service and improving disability processing time, with new initiatives such as the proposed National Workload Management System. Finally, Governor O’Malley will provide a forward-looking perspective on Social Security’s long-term solvency, including the trust fund timeline and implications for policymakers, emphasizing the need for bipartisan collaboration to maintain a strong and reliable program. |
